سَابِقُوا إِلَىٰ مَغْفِرَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَجَنَّةٍ عَرْضُهَا كَعَرْضِ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ أُعِدَّتْ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ فَضْلُ

Translation: “Race one with another in hastening towards Forgiveness from your Lord (Allâh), and towards Paradise, the width whereof is as the width of heaven and earth, prepared for those who believe in Allâh and His Messengers. That is the Grace of Allâh which He bestows on whom He pleases. And Allâh is the Owner of Great Bounty.”

Brothers and sisters, war, hunger and a cholera breakout in Yemen has created the biggest humanitarian emergency on the planet. In Yemen the children are the ones who have suffered the most. Deadly diseases, shortage of food and medicine, shelter, water and basic human needs have affected everybody in Yemen but its mostly the children of Yemen who have suffered with 80% in urgent need of help and 2 million experiencing intense hunger. Just think about how we go day after day enjoying meals, days out, and shopping trips and how we later put our heads down to rest in safety. Whilst we are enjoying life, Muslim children starve and live in pain and fear. Please take a moment to reflect on the blessings we have been given and remember to make dua for our brothers, sisters and children in Yemen.

It was narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: The Muslim is the brother of his fellow Muslim; he does not wrong him or let him down. The one who meets the needs of his brother, Allah will meet his needs. Whoever relieves a Muslim of distress, Allah will relieve him of distress on the Day of Resurrection. Narrated by al-Bukhaari (2442) and Muslim (2580).
